Our Time To Heal

This is a tough one

this word...
this week...

and I wasn't even going to write

(didn't think I could even write)

until I saw the word and it hit so close to home

Lord.
Please.
Heal.

seems to have become our daily request as we've been

praying for healing...
waiting for it...

(for what seems like years now)

and just a few days ago
we suddenly lost our dear family member

(but lost just somehow doesn't seem like the right word to use here)

because we know...

and even though we
are grateful that

his trouble
his pain
his suffering

is finally over

our daily request still remains

because now we are the ones that will need
time to heal

  1. Praying that you feel God wrap around you like a comforting blanket as you heal through your grieving. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  2. Tondra, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

For what it's worth, I've learned - through seeing a LOT of death in some pretty violent places - that it's never easy, and it's not supposed to be.

The people we lose are supposed to leave a mark on our souls; their loss is intended to cripple our hearts until that moment in which we're reunited forever.

You don't get over it. You embrace the suck, and carry the hurt in your heart.

Because as fertilizer grows the sweet grapes, hurt combined with God's love produce the compassion that's so needed in this life.

Sorry to preach. It's my job, but hey, a time and place for everything.

    1. Thank you, Andrew. Please do not feel as if you ever need to apologize for the words you share here. They are always welcomed because they are always right on time.
