once kids discover something that they truly enjoy
shopping or swimming
it is almost impossible to get them to focus on much anything else
I've also learned that...
unless you have plans to
get on a plane
to introduce them to "new" bodies of water...
getting them out of the pool will not be easy
But imagine my surprise when we traveled to Canada for our annual family vacation
and the first thing that the kids wanted to do was...
(you already know)
hit the pool!
And although the weather was significantly cooler
than our warmer Southern CA temps, do you think they even cared one tiny bit?
Nope. They wanted swimming.
But of course we had other plans...
because you don't spend $$$$ on
to stay in the hotel pool all day
No, you don't
You go to experience...
The Butchart Gardens
the Capilano Suspension Bridge
because when you're blessed to have the opportunity to travel with
those things are "necessary"
But after all of that
(perhaps what was most eye-opening)
was that at the end of the day my kids still just wanted swimming
So here's to...
because what my children have ultimately shown me during our recent family vacation is that
when you're done graciously doing
you should always
find time to
to do what you really love!
