Atlanta to Punta Cana
(approx. 1,441 miles)

When one of our families

"The Newlyweds"

continued with plans to visit
Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic

(despite warnings suggesting travelers
should "Exercise Increased Caution")

I will admit that I was concerned

And as they were out
living and enjoying their best lives

I was home wondering and
watching her social media feed

(like an over concerned parent)

until...

this girl, so beautiful and bright,
unwittingly taught me

to see life through a different lens!

Then...

the same day she posted this pic

we had two large earthquakes

(6.9 and 7.1)
here in California

(and the irony wasn't lost on me)

because I realized that...

the only place any of us are ever
"truly safe" is inside the love of Christ

so we may as well choose to live
fully and presently through Him
