We are spiritual beings
sharing a human experience...
joy
sadness
anger
fear
disgust
life happens...
and the experiences it brings can seem
to take our emotions along for a ride
the range is extraordinary
as we can witness
joy turn into ecstasy
fear turn into anxiety
anger turn into bitterness
the cycle seems to be endless
but one of the gifts we can give
(to the next generation)
is the ability to
face, name, and identify what they feel
in order to regulate their own emotion

Knowing it feels like an endless cycle is actually encouraging to me. It reminds me I just need to hang in there until the emotions change again. Lord, help me!

Yes Amie, yes! We can be encouraged today because the God of the mountain is also the God of the valley. He's one and the same, and sees us through it all!
DeleteI love "Go Away Big Green Monster"
ReplyDeleteThe construct and deconstruct... it's a fun approach to storytelling, isn't it? Thanks Barb for stopping by, and hope you will pop in again to hear the story on the next "First Friday".
