Tips for a Successful Family Road Trip

One of my most memorable summer vacations
was spent in the back of an RV touring the country

I was 9 years old

and by the time school resumed
I had visited 15 of the 50 (United) States

Talk about a road trip!

(fast forward 33 years)

I still hold many fond memories from that trip
and now take time to form new memories

while back on the road
-------------------------------------

Our crew recently gassed up our
vehicle and took TWO weekend road trips

Here are our tips for a successful adventure...

"The Family w/ Teens"

First of all...

Road trips are NOT for the faint of heart!

(in the words of my dad)

"You got to have your mind right"

because certain determining factors,
can cause road trips to feel like

grueling
exhausting
beautifully slow

and tiresome adventures

But if you think you're ready
and you have a destination in mind?

Go ahead and make it a road trip!

------------------------------
Los Angeles to Sacramento
(approx. 384 miles)

Travel Tip:

Get on the road early
(preferably before the sun rises)

because nothing puts a damper on a road trip like LA traffic!

Travel Tip:

Plan for comfort taking into consideration
the location and duration of the trip

Water
Snacks
Entertainment

are all important to consider

as well as dressing in loose, comfortable clothing
(and kicking off your shoes if you are the backseat driver)

Enjoy the journey and the destination

and before you know it, you will have arrived!

Campus Tour and Photo Shoot

Sacramento State Homecoming Game
Sac State-49   Montana- 22 (final)

Travel Tip:

If you are 5 hours or more away from home
(or your final destination)

Check into a hotel and spend the night!!

You will wake refreshed and ready to snap
a few morning photos before you hit the road again
