Although summer is traditionally the most popular season for travel,
many are discovering that travel during the "off-season"

(Winter, Spring, or Fall)

also allows for

unique
enchanting

life-changing experiences!

 Chase your dreams

and follow our featured traveler as she

Why Travel During the Off-Season?

Reason #1

Reasonable flight and hotel accommodations
provide the perfect opportunity to...

get out
see more
do more

and enjoy living
brave, bold, and carefree

Singapore

Singapore to Bali
(approx. 1,301 miles)

Learn to let go... it's so exhilarating!

Reason #2

Smaller crowds can allow for more authentic
experiences at popular tourist destinations

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

"they say the elephant never forgets,
and the truth is, neither will you"

Reason #3

Relaxation and Recovery are vital to your
physical, emotional, and spiritual health

so ANY day
is a good day to take a...

Spa Day

and culminate the evening
with fine dining at

Sizzle Rooftop Restaurant

as you enjoy a balmy 76 degree
evening low even well into November!

So, leave your sweater...
grab your swimsuit...

as you (or a friend)
prepare to take a

"Selfie w/ a Stranger"

Shantanu brought his family from India on holiday (vacation)

because when you keep an open mind, leave your
comfort zone, and travel during the "off-season"

you will find...

Reason #4
"The people are real all year long"

Phuket, Thailand
Phi Phi Island

Reason #5

Travel during the off-season
provides the perfect reminder that...

the only limits to

who we are
where we go
what we accomplish

are the ones we place on ourselves

so go ahead sis
and ...

"watch your life transform into a life goal"

#blessed

Fall Favorites w/ Our Families

The signs of Autumn are all around...

fall foliage
weather "coolage"

time and wardrobe changes
to match

but our families do not let
early darkness and cooler temps

slow us down...

no ma'am
no sir

there are still plenty of

things to do
places to see

and certainly

lots of good food to savor and enjoy!

Celebrating Independence Day in Cartagena, Colombia

Our featured families
know that world travel

is less about
"location"

and more about
"destination"

history...
culture...
tradition...

and the wonderful opportunity to
meet, learn from, and connect

with people...

from all over the world!

Welcome to Cartagena!!

"Cartagena is rich with culture.

The people are welcoming and friendly,
and we are blessed to be alive and LOVED"

and since...

the country is beautiful
the people are beautiful

you'll also want a beautiful place
to begin (and end) each day while there

Take time to...

fuel up for a day of festivities with people from
around the world who've gathered to celebrate

Cartagena Independence Day

"Being here is a reminder of how much
we take for granted back at home"

and remember...

(what happens at the festival, stays at the festival)

grab your sister and friends the next morning
for a delicious meal and rejuvenating day trip

and a mud bath in the dormant...

Totumo Mud Volcano

Jamilla says...

It was quite the adventure

Despite the panicked look on my face... we truly embraced the experience,
and if you visit Colombia, I suggest trying it with a group of your friends.

Along with a...

Beach/Boat Tour

(to complete your Colombian adventures)

--------------------------------------------
Before you go...

introducing something new I'm asking our
families to document on their travel adventures

"A Selfie w/ a Stranger"

She says...

"This lady gave the
best massages at the beach

She's lived in Colombia all of her life,
and when I asked for a selfie, she said yes!"

(proving)

that we each have a

unique
individual
purpose

(our gift)

to share with others,
connect, and prove

that together...

we can change the world!

Tips for a Successful Family Road Trip

One of my most memorable summer vacations
was spent in the back of an RV touring the country

I was 9 years old

and by the time school resumed
I had visited 15 of the 50 (United) States

Talk about a road trip!

(fast forward 33 years)

I still hold many fond memories from that trip
and now take time to form new memories

while back on the road
-------------------------------------

Our crew recently gassed up our
vehicle and took TWO weekend road trips

Here are our tips for a successful adventure...

"The Family w/ Teens"

First of all...

Road trips are NOT for the faint of heart!

(in the words of my dad)

"You got to have your mind right"

because certain determining factors,
can cause road trips to feel like

grueling
exhausting
beautifully slow

and tiresome adventures

But if you think you're ready
and you have a destination in mind?

Go ahead and make it a road trip!

------------------------------
Los Angeles to Sacramento
(approx. 384 miles)

Travel Tip:

Get on the road early
(preferably before the sun rises)

because nothing puts a damper on a road trip like LA traffic!

Travel Tip:

Plan for comfort taking into consideration
the location and duration of the trip

Water
Snacks
Entertainment

are all important to consider

as well as dressing in loose, comfortable clothing
(and kicking off your shoes if you are the backseat driver)

Enjoy the journey and the destination

and before you know it, you will have arrived!

Campus Tour and Photo Shoot

Sacramento State Homecoming Game
Sac State-49   Montana- 22 (final)

Travel Tip:

If you are 5 hours or more away from home
(or your final destination)

Check into a hotel and spend the night!!

You will wake refreshed and ready to snap
a few morning photos before you hit the road again

more tips next time
as we take another family road trip!
