Early Care and Education (Mud)

I get excited about this every year...

 2017
because

celebrating mud
on the same day
across the world

ultimately connects us all back

to the Earth
to childhood
to one another

How will you celebrate?

Build Something That Will Stand

The word for this week is perfect!

five minute friday

So...

yesterday
work
staff development day

and I knew it was going to be an amazing day
when our group facilitator started with my

1979 hit

then after we settled down
a closer look at our core values

(through an activity)

The task?
Build the tallest structure using drinking straws

The challenge?
Must be steady enough to stand alone

The outcome?
My group completed and won the challenge!

See that piece of blue painter's tape?
(Shhh... we were the only group to use ours)

Then...

when reporting back to the larger group
our facilitator asked us the key to our success

(and a lot was said, but I will not bore you with those details here)

bottom line

because
we
had

discussed
supported
worked together

we built something that could stand

Slow Down Summer

Another summer has arrived and the kids are so excited!

counting the days
planning the days
anticipating the days

ahead

And as I sit and quietly listen to their plans

the

hard
cold
reality

slaps me in the face...

my children have less than 5 summers left as children

and

I remember
where they are

because

I've been
where they are

so while...

life moves faster
time moves faster

my hope for Summer 2017

is that they really learn to just

slow down and
enjoy it all

Life Worth Living

It began so inadvertently...

but turned into something that would charge

my passion
my position
my perspective

as I looked up to find myself at the intersection of "Double Grace"

the intersection where

gratitude and
grace

ordinary and
extraordinary

and one picture a day for 100 days

provided proof
(once again)

that
this
truly

is a life worth living

The Blessing Right Next Door

There's something...

special
amazing
magical

about meeting your
first cousin

for the
first time

in a "random chance situation"

Well, last week...

my cousin texted "visiting from London"

then I texted "where?"...
then she texted the address...

then I realized that she was right next door!

And as we fell into each other's arms

holding one another
squeezing
trying to determine

if it were real
if we were real

I realized
that in life

there are no "random chance situations"

only

destiny
opportunity
perfect spiritual alignment

and the greatest

joys
moments
blessings

are not only
the ones you least expect

but sometimes

they just also happen to be
the ones right next door

A Fresh Start

Allow me to reintroduce myself...

I am Tondra Denise
I love the Lord and
I have five minutes

wanna share?
-----------------------------------------------

We are human and sometimes just need

a fresh start
a second chance
a reintroduction

"old things are passed away
all things become new"

last week my post here may have been
slightly confusing/misleading

(and for that I apologize)

but here I am
back again this week
bright and early

because that's the beauty of Calvary...

Jesus

born sinless
bore sin

in order to

relieve us
retrieve us
reintroduce us

to the Father...

erase the past and
exchange it

with hope

for the future
